Director for Sustainability Disclosures and Ratings

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive the company’s ESG disclosure strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with international sustainability standards.
  • Prepare disclosures and narratives for third-party ESG ratings agencies (e.g., CDP, S&P CSA, MSCI).
  • Lead the creation of content showcasing Western Digital’s leadership through position papers, white papers, and blogs.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to improve employee engagement on sustainability topics.
  • Oversee assurance processes associated with disclosures (internal and external).
  • Analyze and interpret complex data to craft clear and insightful narratives.
  • Challenge data to ensure accuracy and credibility in all submissions.
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit ESG performance and disclosures to voluntary ratings platforms.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of annual sustainability reports, aligning with frameworks like GRI, TCFD, CSRD, ESRS, SASB, and others.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and validate data.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of key sustainability frameworks (GRI, ESRS, TCFD, CSRD, SASB, and others).
  • Technical writing capabilities.
  • Critical thinking skills to interpret complex data.
  • Ability to manage the nuances of sustainability reporting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
