Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Sustainability, Finance, or Communications, with a Master’s degree preferred. They must have at least 10 years of experience in sustainability reporting, disclosure, or ESG strategy, including experience with international sustainability standards and frameworks. Strong analytical and technical writing skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret complex data and craft clear, insightful narratives. Experience with assurance processes related to sustainability disclosures is also required.

Responsibilities

The Director for Sustainability Disclosures and Ratings will be responsible for managing and driving Western Digital’s ESG disclosure strategy, ensuring compliance with international sustainability standards, preparing disclosures and narratives for third-party ESG ratings agencies, and leading content creation showcasing WD leadership. This includes actively engaging with internal stakeholders, building employee engagement on sustainability topics, and overseeing assurance processes associated with disclosures, both internal and external. The role will also involve developing position papers, white papers, and blog content to communicate WD’s sustainability efforts.
