Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a relevant role or industry with a focus on Retail, Sales, Merchandising or similar
  • Extensive experience working with external customers/stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of retail and wholesale
  • Demonstrable experience leading and uniting cross-functional teams around a clear vision
  • Commercially minded with strong understanding of the Aus/NZ Retail landscape
  • Proven ability to create, lead and drive multiple account strategies
  • Comfortable dealing with account conversations, commercial & retail metrics, and presenting, influencing and working with external retail partners
  • Experience navigating internal stakeholders both locally and globally in managing business results and strategy
  • Self-motivated leader with deep retail, consumer-centric and commercial knowledge base
  • Strategic problem solver with preferred experience in account management or retail leadership
  • Retail or commercial management and marketplace expertise in retail stores, sales, digital, product, partner management and financial acumen
  • Understanding of the Pacific sport and retail landscape, knowledge of sports & lifestyle apparel and footwear market (preferred)
  • High attention to detail and a proactive can-do approach
  • Proven ability to manage multiple external senior leadership stakeholders at once
  • Strong and demonstrated ability to partner, influence and communicate effectively in a highly complex matrix environment with multiple business functions
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail / business / commercial metrics and KPIs
  • Ability to interpret sales and analytics data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business

Responsibilities

  • Manage critical external stakeholder relationships with Sportswear Specialty partners (Accent Group & Sportswear Authenticators) as the key conduit between Strategic Global & Pacific Key Partners and the Nike brand
  • Work with a large, diverse internal team across Pacific & the region through Nike Sales, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Legal and Operations
  • Forge on-the-ground head office relationships with Accent Group and Sportswear Authenticators to engender goodwill, deeper understanding of Nike's strategic direction, and ensure premium execution of the Nike brand at retail
  • Co-create, own and champion strategies to extend the reach of the Nike brand and elevate partner business in collaboration with multiple partners to better serve consumers
  • Drive growth, handle customer conversations, communicate a vision and purpose, and keep teams focused on clear processes, KPIs and outcomes
