Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, vision, and direction for a critical R&D development function and/or R&D program in MCS
  • Lead electronic, mechanical, and system design for medical device and equipment functions
  • Collaborate across the division to optimize products, development programs, strategy, and budgets
  • Conduct high-level program management coordination and strategic decision ownership for MCS products and technology development
  • Shape the leading-edge technology roadmap and build relevant technical competence in R&D teams to deliver business product roadmap and support product life cycle management
  • Establish product segment strategies in concert with cross-functional senior management and ensure clear strategic direction for product teams
  • Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent; foster a diverse workplace enabling full contributions
  • Create an entrepreneurial, can-do, results-oriented culture and transform R&D teams to deliver on challenge programs
  • Provide general direction to directors, managers, exempt specialists, and non-exempt support staff
  • Keep the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision-making and action
  • Demonstrate effective change management and leadership
  • Build strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives
  • Interact with executive-level management, regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, and suppliers
