Requirements

  • Leadership experience in R&D, particularly in directing directors and managers up to R&D Director level staff
  • Expertise in electronic, mechanical, and system design for medical devices and equipment, specifically Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) products
  • Proven ability to provide high-level program management, strategic decision-making, and technology roadmap development
  • Strong people leadership skills, including recruiting, coaching, and developing organizational talent
  • Experience fostering a diverse, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented culture in R&D teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, vision, and direction for critical R&D development functions and/or programs in MCS product development
  • Oversee electronic, mechanical, and system design for medical device and equipment functions
  • Collaborate across the division to optimize products, development programs, strategy, and budgets
  • Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent, fostering a diverse workplace and entrepreneurial culture
  • Lead and shape the technology roadmap, build technical competence in R&D teams, and support product lifecycle management
  • Establish product segment strategies in concert with cross-functional senior management
  • Provide general direction to directors, managers, specialists, and support staff
  • Keep the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision-making and action
  • Demonstrate effective change management and leadership, including turning around challenge programs
  • Coordinate across functional areas, business units, and geographies to achieve company goals
