Director of Telemedicine

Employment Type: Full time Working Hours Per Week: 40 Location: Remote/Nationwide, USA

Position Overview

The Director of Telemedicine is a dual clinical and operational leadership role responsible for optimizing Skin Clique’s telehealth service lines. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this individual will drive clinical excellence, provider productivity, lead generation, and strategic expansion of virtual services. The position includes 5 protected hours per week dedicated to provider oversight and performance optimization, and up to 20 hours/week of patient-facing telemedicine staffing during the initial phase.

This leader will serve as the clinical point person for telemedicine, owning provider support, performance outcomes, patient volume growth, education, documentation, and the introduction of new virtual services (e.g., hormone therapy, acne, hair loss, and more).

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Oversight & Provider Management

  • Monitor and enhance clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and outcomes across telemedicine service lines.
  • Conduct ongoing review of productivity metrics, documentation standards, and clinical performance for all telemedicine providers.
  • Serve as the primary clinical leader over all providers delivering telemedicine services, including managing escalations, feedback, and best practice coaching.
  • Act as a liaison to Collaborating or Supervising physicians, ensuring telehealth providers are aligned with collaborative practice requirements.

2. Operational Telehealth Strategy

  • Build and execute telemedicine rollout plans for new service lines (e.g., menopause/HRT, acne, hair loss consultations, prescription skincare).
  • Direct the operational setup and provider support required to scale new services nationally.
  • Collaborate with marketing and growth teams to convert inbound interest from the website (e.g., “Staff Leads”) into booked virtual consultations.
  • Drive monthly and quarterly telemedicine visit volume growth goals through active provider engagement and oversight.

3. Telemedicine Staffing (Initial Phase)

  • Provide up to 20 hours per week of direct patient telemedicine visits during the first 90–180 days of role onboarding.
  • Model best practices in telemedicine documentation, virtual rapport, and care delivery.
  • Serve as a “player-coach,” helping refine workflows and educate newer telehealth providers by example.

4. Clinical Documentation & Consent Development

  • Draft and maintain telemedicine consent forms compliant with state and federal virtual care regulations.
  • Create, refine, and update note templates and macros tailored to each telemedicine offering (e.g., acne, HRT, hyperhidrosis, skincare consults).
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure telehealth documentation meets current guidelines.
  • Standardize EMR workflows and documentation protocols for seamless clinical execution.

5. Education & Onboarding

  • Develop and deliver training modules for new telemedicine service lines, including tip sheets, recorded walkthroughs, and live onboarding sessions.
  • Create telehealth-specific clinical guidelines, documentation protocols, and escalation pathways.
  • Lead continuous education efforts for all virtual providers, ensuring they remain up-to-date with standards of care and platform updates.

6. Growth & Innovation

  • Partner with growth teams to support lead generation and conversion from inbound interest (e.g., new patients visiting the website or social media).
  • Collaborate with marketing to build awareness and trust around virtual care options.
  • Lead strategic planning for hair loss consultations, regenerative treatments, and hormonal care pathways within the telemedicine service lines.
  • Monitor telemedicine service trends and propose pilots of innovative offerings or models (e.g., group visits, asynchronous consults).

Estimated Weekly Time Allocation: Provider oversight, encouragement and productivity.
