Loopio is seeking a Director of Product Design and Research for a 14-month contract role. This position will support the Product Design and Research team, practice, and ongoing Experience Strategy. The role reports to the VP, Product Management and collaborates with cross-functional leaders across Engineering, Machine Learning + Data Science, Product Marketing, and senior leadership. The Director will champion the strategy and execution of Product Design and Research functions, drive existing processes, and suggest improvements for collaborative processes and outputs. Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution and delivery of a domain-defining user experience in the Response Management space, leveraging AI and machine learning.
  • Refine, shape, and implement the Experience Strategy, defining and maintaining a high bar of experience quality.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science & AI, Product Marketing, Customer Experience, and Sales teams to launch and communicate a top-tier customer experience.
  • Act as a strong voice of the customer, advocating for users and championing Loopio’s customer-centric approach.
  • Mentor and support Loopio’s Product Design and Research team, providing mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Build, refine, and drive the Product Design and Research process and rituals.
  • Serve as the voice of Product Design and Research, ensuring the company understands its importance and value.
  • Lead the team to build a valuable, intuitive, and beautiful product that customers love.
  • Prioritize team retention and support hiring and performance management as needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Product Design and Research experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Design leadership role within a high-growth SaaS company.
  • Experience managing Researchers and/or a Research practice is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and management principles/values aligned with Grit, Curiosity, Candour, Mastery, and Support.
  • Experience leading Product Design in a B2B SaaS company.
  • Bonus: Experience shipping B2C products at scale and iterating based on consumer needs.
  • Experience working in a scrum/agile environment with embedded designers and researchers.
  • Ability to balance design idealism with pragmatism.
  • Scientific mindset for validating designs and design hypotheses.
  • Background in both generative and evaluative design research practices, understanding when to employ each and how to translate research insights into the experience.
  • Experience in managing a distributed team is a plus.
