Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability role
  • 4+ years of experience successfully leading geographically distributed teams of 4+ engineers
  • Hands-on experience with managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong experience working with Kubernetes workloads in production environments
  • Strong experience working with CI/CD tooling
  • Strong familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Loki and ELK
  • Strong desire to automate where possible
  • Experience in participating in and organizing on-call rotations
  • Proven experience sourcing and hiring top engineering talent
  • Experience working in a cross-team environment, collaborating with and enabling other functions to drive broader departmental goals
  • A self-starter capable of adapting quickly and being decisive
  • Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Full-time onsite at Palo Alto office

Responsibilities

  • Lead a large, strategic organization composed of multiple engineering teams and managers, ensuring a clear impact on the success of BitGo
  • Own the success of the Infrastructure department, making decisions that consistently drive the achievement of departmental and company OKRs
  • Be accountable for the overall technical integrity, operational health, and fiscal responsibility of our core infrastructure, including upholding a high technical bar while making pragmatic, data-driven decisions on budget and resource allocation
  • Ensure the organization is resilient, responsive, and able to quickly address changing business conditions or critical production issues
  • Collaborate effectively with senior leaders across engineering, product, security, and finance to break down organizational silos and align the infrastructure roadmap with business priorities
  • Define and communicate a multi-year technical vision and strategy for Infrastructure that aligns with BitGo’s ambitious growth plans in the crypto fintech space
