Resource Innovations is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Business Development and Sales to join our dynamic team in the Southwest. This role is responsible for leading all business development and sales efforts for our Demand Side Management (DSM) capabilities, including: - Energy efficiency - Demand response and load flexibility - Transportation electrification and electric vehicles - Solar and battery programs

The target market includes electric and gas utilities in the Southwestern USA, specifically the states of Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.

We leverage our expertise in energy efficiency to expand our portfolio of clean energy solutions, guiding utilities through complex, connected challenges in load flexibility, electrification, and carbon reduction.

Requirements

  • Strong background in business development and sales.
  • Proven experience in the utility industry, with a focus on DSM.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency (EE), demand response (DR), and other Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Secure new revenue streams with Electric and Gas utilities in the Southwestern United States.
  • Achieve annual sales quota goals.
  • Increase company revenue by expanding EE, DR, and other DER services and programs to utilities in target geographic areas.
  • Collaborate closely with Delivery and Operations teams to ensure excellent customer service and drive new opportunities.
  • Develop and implement integrated business development and sales strategies, including detailed strategic sales and account plans.
  • Act as a Resource Innovations client advocate within regional teams.
  • Partner effectively with business unit operations leaders, company subject matter experts, and national support service teams.
  • Actively identify client and market needs through collaboration with Sector Leads and Delivery Leaders.
  • Engage with all Investor-Owned Utilities and large Municipal Utilities within the assigned sales service territory annually.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance quality, creativity, sales and account management processes, and customer service.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and contractors.
  • Lead and support the proposal development process.
  • Contribute to the growth of Resource Innovations, including product development and new program ideation.
  • Support project launches and ensure a smooth transition of clients to project implementation teams.
  • Provide operational and support services as needed.
