Requirements

  • 8+ years of Merchandising experience
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with a track record of leveraging insights to build resilient growth plans
  • Exceptional collaboration skills to partner with cross-functional teams and vendors of all sizes
  • Experience with pyramid or enterprise level leadership, including complex CFT management
  • Flexibility, resiliency and nimbleness; comfortable working in “grey areas” that are constantly changing
  • Leadership experience, commitment to developing high-performing and inclusive teams
  • Merchandising Depth: Depth of core merchandising experience to quickly drive impact and develop next generation of merchandising leaders
  • Frequency Experience: Frequency experience and/or deep understanding of nuances of high-turning essential categories

Responsibilities

  • Create omni-channel growth by planning profitable and locally relevant assortments using grasp of guest shopping behavior, assortment requirements and competitors
  • Influence and negotiate with vendors to achieve results and identify gaps and opportunities
  • Translate financial metrics and data into actionable strategies
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive category results while managing progress toward sales and margin goals
  • Partner with product designers and/or category managers and vendors to guide product development and source appropriately for the category
  • Lead Associate Buyers and Senior Merchandise Specialists (2 L5 buyers, 1 L4 AB, 1 L2 SMS)
  • Interact with Pricing and Promotion Center of Excellence, Planning, Site Merchandising, Item Center of Excellence and other expert partners in support of promotional planning across channels
  • Key division and pyramid captainships responsibilities
  • Final buying responsibilities to be determined; portfolio includes established national brands, differentiated emerging brands, and strong owned brand
