About the Role

We are seeking a smart, scrappy, and customer-savvy Director, Business Development to drive the growth of our insurance marketplace's supply side. You will be part of the team responsible for identifying, pitching, and onboarding new insurance carriers, thereby expanding the value we offer our customers.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on the challenge of forging difficult partnerships. You'll need to be creative, collaborate cross-functionally, and present a compelling narrative with a strong point of view to convince carriers who may initially be hesitant.

What You’ll Do

  • Think creatively to solve complex and strategically significant business problems.
  • Be both strategic and hands-on: build the plan, collaborate with cross-functional teams for execution, and own the results.
  • Source and close partnerships with insurance carriers to grow the supply side of the marketplace.
  • Develop tailored pitches and solutions, especially for partners who may not initially recognize the value of collaboration.
  • Represent Jerry professionally, clearly, and insightfully in external meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, strategy, or similar roles, ideally within a high-growth startup environment or in consulting.
  • Proven history of driving and closing complex, high-value deals.
  • Exceptional drive and intellectual curiosity; you are a self-starter obsessed with impact and focused on outcomes.
  • World-class communication and influencing skills, capable of navigating senior executive conversations with ease and precision.
  • An inherently creative and entrepreneurial spirit, consistently finding breakthrough solutions.
  • An unwavering sense of ownership and urgency; you thrive in ambiguous environments.
