Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Law, Ethics, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
6–8+ years of experience in AI, emerging technology, and risk management, with demonstrated success in governance program leadership
Proven track record in developing and implementing AI governance frameworks, policies, standards, and guidelines
Responsibilities
Lead the Enterprise AI Governance Program by developing and maintaining governance frameworks, policies, standards, and guidelines that address ethical AI principles, regulatory requirements, and risk management best practices
Oversee the Responsible Use of AI (RUAI) program, ensuring AI systems are aligned with corporate values, human rights considerations, and societal impact assessments
Manage and optimize AI governance tools and platforms (e.g., model registries, risk assessment platforms, bias detection tools, explainability dashboards) to support consistent, automated compliance processes across the AI lifecycle
Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, and business leaders to integrate ethical, legal, and security requirements into AI/ML design, development, deployment, and monitoring activities
Ensure alignment with industry standards and regulations such as the EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA, Colorado AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and other applicable frameworks
Establish and lead AI risk assessment processes, including classification of AI systems by risk level, evaluation of bias, fairness, and explainability, and oversight of mitigation plans
Monitor and audit AI systems to ensure operational effectiveness of controls, documenting results, and coordinating remediation activities
Develop and oversee enterprise AI ethics and governance training programs for data scientists, developers, business users, and executives
Serve as a thought leader and internal advocate for responsible AI practices, staying current on emerging regulations, technologies, and societal impacts of AI
Report on AI governance KPIs and risk metrics to executive leadership and the Board, providing transparency into AI program maturity and risk posture
Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of AI governance policies, tools, and cultural alignment toward responsible AI practices
