Requirements

Ability to manage Diagnostic Production Manager responsibilities in the manager's absence
Knowledge of reagent manufacturing, dispensing, and packaging processes
Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., Solomon inventory reports)
Experience in interpreting specifications, job orders, and enforcing standards
Skills in employee management, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding/disciplining, and resolving complaints
Understanding of quality management systems and safety regulations
Capability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment/instruments

Responsibilities

Check inventories of bulk reagents, buffers, and components for test kits; review open orders for custom-filled or bulk reagents
Plan and schedule reagent and buffer manufacturing, dispensing, and packaging, establishing priorities and sequences
Write, develop, or revise standard operational and working practices; observe workers to ensure compliance
Manage packaging of liquid kit components (e.g., conjugates, calibrators, enzyme diluents)
Maintain inventories of raw materials; review inventory reports and complete requisition requests for procurement
Interpret specifications and job orders to workers; assign duties
Assist in interviewing, hiring, training employees; plan, assign, direct work; appraise performance; reward/discipline; address complaints and resolve problems
Investigate customer complaints related to products manufactured and packaged in the area
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, working conditions, and efficiency
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them
Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate departmental activities
Participate in the quality management system
Maintain equipment and instruments; troubleshoot problems; oversee servicing; report malfunctions to Diagnostic Production Manager
Perform duties of supervised workers as needed
Adhere to divisional, corporate policies, procedures, and applicable laws; support organization's goals and values; interpret policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
