Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s degree, an asset)
  • A minimum of 3 years experience administrating Linux based environments (Red Hat, CentOS, Debian or Ubuntu)
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with service oriented architectures, software development and the development life cycle
  • A minimum of 1 year experience practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation concepts and ability to use and structure complex automation recipes and formulas (Terraform and Ansible)
  • Ability to identify caching opportunities and implement them with guidance
  • Familiar with various database systems and able to write complex queries independently
  • Knowledge of Cloud concepts and able to follow instructions to use them with minimal guidance
  • Knowledge of container concepts and able to follow instructions to use them with minimal guidance
  • Proficiency in Git

Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for the reliability, scalability, and resilience of medium complexity infrastructure components on both AWS and Azure platforms with minimal guidance (web servers, data stores, hosted services, load balancers, etc.), ensuring best practices like replication, sharding, load balancing, monitoring, SLAs, alerting, and auto-scaling
  • Understand the high-level product roadmap for the squad and upcoming features, contribute to high-level estimation, and layout development sequences
  • Complete complex cloud-based development tasks on AWS and Azure with minimal guidance
  • Actively contribute to deploying code to production environments in both AWS and Azure, aiming to become a main contributor
  • Begin reviewing Pull Requests for straightforward development
  • Write testable, efficient, and reusable code suitable for continuous integration and deployment on AWS and Azure, respecting best practices and INTELCOM development standards
  • Review Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams and technical documentation, ensuring its quality
  • Take responsibility for code quality and ensure adequate testing is conducted
  • Review and contribute to technical documentation, with particular attention to cloud infrastructure and best practices on AWS and Azure
  • Lead the onboarding of new DevOps personnel and provide coaching on DevOps tools, with specific emphasis on AWS and Azure technologies
