Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent (some college preferred)
  • 2-5 years relationship selling experience in in-home/outside sales (preferably specialty/custom products/services) or retail (ideally home décor/furnishings)
  • Education or experience in Design and Decor preferred
  • Experience with POS Systems preferred
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Quick learner who is adaptable, self-reliant, resourceful, and handles competing priorities
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, requesting clarification when needed
  • Ability to express thoughts, ideas, and concerns positively, respectfully, and productively
  • Works independently but functions well as part of a team
  • Availability to work full-time five days per week, including one weekend day
  • Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Windows-based programs
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow new technology processes and systems
  • Ability to drive within canvassing areas and accommodate longer drive times
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Expertly match products and services to clients’ needs
  • Successfully close appointments by demonstrating unique Value Proposition, building trust and credibility
  • Properly execute all systems and procedures to ensure client satisfaction and avoid order errors
  • Measure, record, and configure specifications accurately and efficiently
  • Provide high-level client service and follow-up in a friendly, professional, and timely manner for internal and external clients
  • Proactively identify and generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and market research to build a pipeline of self-generated business
  • Be flexible to business needs, including appointment scheduling, time off requests, attending team meetings, and training
