Candidates should have over 7 years of experience in design, art direction, and/or creative direction, preferably in both startup and larger tech companies, with agency experience being a plus. A strong portfolio that showcases the design process, problem-solving skills, and the impact of previous work is required. Proficiency in modern design software including Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite is essential. Experience in providing feedback and direction to creative partners such as photographers, 3D artists, animators, illustrators, strategists, and copywriters is also necessary, with experience in directing strategists and copywriters being a plus.
The Design Director will help lead the creative and design process to drive the evolution of Cohere's visual identity. They will collaborate with the design team and outside stakeholders in marketing and engineering. The role involves creating polished experiences through collaboration with internal teams and external creative partners. Additionally, the Design Director will maintain and evolve the brand and its touchpoints, including guidelines and visual assets, while mentoring the entire design team.
