Candidates should have completed or be currently enrolled in law school. They must possess great attention to detail and organizational skills, a strong understanding of the local Vietnamese legal system, and experience with legal and policy research. Proactive, autonomous, resilient, and adaptable qualities are also required.
The intern will work with the research team at Queen’s University for 4-5 weeks to produce publications related to labor and employment laws. Responsibilities include assisting with the development of legal compliance technology, drafting reports on legal doctrines, annotating case law, and consulting on key legal questions in the dispute resolution process. They will also collaborate with Deel Lab experts using modern research methods, including empirical methods, to address research problems in areas such as worker classification, legal status of contractors, collective bargaining rights, global pension systems, social security and healthcare benefits for contractors, and legal remote-work issues.
