Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and 7-9 years of database administration experience in a SaaS environment. They should have expertise in MariaDB on Amazon RDS and/or Google Cloud SQL, and ElasticSearch, along with a deep understanding of database security best practices, encryption, access control, and compliance requirements such as GDPR and PCI-DSS.

Responsibilities

The Database Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing database performance, implementing and enforcing database security and integrity best practices, developing and maintaining backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies, setting up and managing database monitoring tools, proactively addressing performance bottlenecks, optimizing queries, researching and executing cloud database migrations, developing automation scripts for database maintenance, and collaborating with engineering teams to design scalable and efficient databases.
