Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA working on Linux/VM, AWS and/or OCI cloud, with expertise in MySQL database architecture and internal workings. They must be proficient in scripting and automating routine database tasks using Shell and SQL, and have experience with database design, installation, backup/recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, patching, supporting, and upgrading MySQL in both Cloud and on-premises environments. Furthermore, they should be adept at database monitoring and performance tuning tools, and demonstrate the ability to ensure data integrity and availability through overseeing database storage, access, and security.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Database Administrator at Zoom, the role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining MySQL database servers, managing and supporting mission-critical replicated database environments, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting database performance and issues, participating in database design, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, and patching, supporting DevOps and Service Engineers on database related works and issues, proposing and enforcing architectural governance, database standards, and best practices, supporting NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB, and participating in team on-call and deployment rotation.
