Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, and have at least 3 years of experience in data science, with a preference for experience in manufacturing or supply chain environments. Strong proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and data mining is required, along with experience in programming languages like Python or R. Familiarity with data visualization tools and cloud computing platforms is also desired.
The Data Scientist - Product Supply will provide technical leadership in supporting OU innovation projects, working with project teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality globally. They will develop and plan analytic projects to address business needs, leveraging data science tools to tackle process problems and improve product quality. This role involves developing new analytics/predictive/prescriptive modeling methods, proposing prescriptive analytic models, and contributing to the development and maintenance of key data pipelines. Furthermore, the Data Scientist will conduct research to identify opportunities for analytical modeling products and services, diagnose and resolve model performance issues, and collaborate with process/equipment owners and ITOT to build robust data models for analytical capabilities.
