Requirements
Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar program, possessing a basic understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis methods, including descriptive statistics and A/B testing, familiarity with machine learning concepts, familiarity with python and relevant libraries (e.g. numpy, pandas, scikit-learn), basic SQL skills (e.g. joining, grouping, filtering), and the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Responsibilities
The Data Science Co-op will assist in identifying potential areas where data science and machine learning can enhance products and operations, query databases to extract relevant game data and assist with exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and feature engineering, support the development and evaluation of machine learning models aimed at improving in-game features and key product metrics, communicate project goals, progress, and preliminary outcomes to various stakeholders, gain exposure to various data science methodologies including statistical analysis, A/B testing, and machine learning techniques, develop proficiency in using data analysis and programming tools, assist in setting up and preparing data science projects, contribute to data collection efforts, and support overall data science projects.
