Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering with a strong focus on both data modeling and infrastructure
- Proficient in SQL
- Proficient in Python
- Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., DBT, Databricks, Airflow)
- Experience managing distributed and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB), and cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Strong understanding of scalable data architecture and real-time streaming pipelines (plus)
- Experience in leading teams, setting code standards, and mentoring junior developers
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable data systems
- Familiarity with booking platforms, CMS architectures, or event-based tracking systems (plus)
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of booking and CMS data features according to the roadmap
- Build, optimize, and manage robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using tools like Airflow, DBT, and Databricks
- Oversee infrastructure and storage layers across distributed systems (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB, Postgres), ensuring scalability, availability, and performance
- Support and partner with Data PMs to deliver clean, actionable data for reporting, analytics, and experimentation
- Handle client data queries, investigate anomalies, and proactively improve data quality and debugging workflows
- Manage a team of data engineers and analysts: provide architectural direction, review code, and support career growth
- Collaborate with DevOps/Platform teams on deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization of data services
- Champion best practices in data governance, version control, security, and documentation
