Requirements

  • Must have a valid 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems license (Red Seal Designation preferred)
  • Must have a valid Gas Technician 2 Certificate (G1 preferred)
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate
  • Sound working knowledge of CSA B149.1
  • High regard for health and safety
  • Must be customer and team oriented, as well as self-motivated and able to work successfully with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with lead HVAC mechanic to gain knowledge and skills as required
  • Coordinate, conduct or assist with all preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance activities, including those activities performed by Ascent’s clients or vendor staff
  • Manage client and vendor staff in the maintenance of buildings and grounds
  • Perform initial troubleshooting to mechanical and infrastructural systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, life safety systems, security systems, roofs, drains, shop equipment, emergency power systems, and systems furniture
  • Routinely inspect buildings, space, grounds and/or equipment regularly for problematic or unsafe conditions
  • Perform and oversee general and preventative maintenance tasks including equipment checks, equipment performance monitoring, cleaning, lubrication and service of a wide variety of components/devices
  • Coordinate, conduct or assist with facility renovations, upgrades, and build-outs including overseeing vendors
  • Manage and maintain site Building Management Systems, CCTV, Access Control System
  • Support overall site operation of the data center facility
  • Other duties as assigned
