Physical ability to support on-site data center operations (100% onsite contractor position)

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day data center operations and execute projects (30% Data Center Infrastructure & Cabling)
Perform analysis and consulting of customers' IT infrastructure hardware; conduct walkthroughs to assess project delivery
Install and manage structured cabling infrastructure projects
Elicit data center infrastructure requirements from clients
Install, terminate, test, and label cross-connects (copper and fiber) per standard operating procedures
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling issues
Troubleshoot and address physical issues
Create straight-through, crossover, and console cables
Install or move shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, servers, switches, and other equipment
Identify and report problem devices; replace defective parts as directed (30% Compute/Network/Storage support)
Visually inspect equipment for errors or unusual noises
Assist in infrastructure readiness tests
Configure OOB management interfaces on devices for remote access
Test and validate remote accessibility to customer systems
Monitor and maintain servers and network equipment
Upgrade internal components (CPUs, memory, hard drives, network cables)
Create and maintain service desk documentation
Provide asset management plans, unpack items, identify parts, and dispose of non-essentials (20% Asset Management)
