Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in data center operations or facility operations with a record of increasing role responsibility. A deep technical understanding of data center facilities and infrastructure including power, HVAC, structured cabling, rack management, and security/compliance is required, along with working knowledge of networking/server architecture and hardware. Experience in installing and troubleshooting telco circuits, managing vendors in a data center environment, and process development is a must. Familiarity with AI integration into work processes is preferred, as are CompTIA A+, Server+, or Network+ certifications, and ITIL process methodologies. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to multi-task, domestic and international travel, and excellent documentation skills. Proven ability to function independently and lead cross-functional teams is necessary, along with strong communication, customer focus, problem-solving, conflict management, and interpersonal skills.
The Data Center Operations Engineer will be responsible for engineering, implementing, communicating, executing, and streamlining processes related to security, asset management, deployments, infrastructure design, circuit management, capacity management, and hardware break-fix. They will also help develop, document, and evangelize a catalog of standards and best practices for data center operations. This role functions as the primary point of contact and accountability for all vendors operating within the data centers. Responsibilities include installation and troubleshooting of telco circuits, installation of pre-integrated racks, servers, and network appliances with proper stacking, wiring, and cable management, and performing basic hands-on hardware break-fix for servers and network appliances.
