Candidates must have experience testing equipment and cabling, building out racks and cabinets, and terminating onto patch panels. A basic understanding of RJ45 terminations and punch-downs is required, along with comfort working with color-coded wiring. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity is essential. Candidates must be willing to work days, nights, or weekends as needed, and be able to work on ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces. A high school diploma or GED is required, as is the ability to read, write, and understand English; bilingual skills are a plus. OSHA 10 certification is required within the first two weeks of employment.
The Data Center Infrastructure Technician will pull, dress, and label cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) according to TIA/EIA standards, and begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance. They will assist in labeling and cable identification, learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks, and support cable testing using basic tools under supervision. The role involves gaining exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling, following safety protocols, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. Technicians will take direction from senior technicians and supervisors.
