Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in payment analytics and reporting, or related fields within the financial services or retail industry
  • 2+ years of experience in applying statistical techniques, including experimental design and hypothesis testing
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, or Python for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms
  • Strong skills in creating macros, automating repetitive tasks, and optimizing code for efficiency
  • Knowledge of the payments industry, including payment processing, fraud, and fee management (plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences
  • Able to develop and deliver presentations to key business partners with minimal oversight

Responsibilities

  • Deliver data-driven analytics and actionable insights to guide strategic decision-making within the Payments organization
  • Conduct advanced analysis to interpret payment fee trends, JWN channel performance, customer engagement with JWN card, and card marketing campaign effectiveness
  • Develop and own forecasts, KPIs, and expectations for payment strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate key insights and trends to internal stakeholders
  • Summarize complex data into actionable recommendations and present findings clearly to cross-functional partners and senior leadership
  • Solve complex queries from leadership and business partners via self-driven data exploration and hypothesis testing
  • Monitor emerging trends in customer payment behavior and share insights with relevant teams
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Finance, Product, and IT, to support payment initiatives and data development
  • Work closely with external partners, such as Visa, Mastercard, to ensure alignment on strategies, reporting, and performance expectations
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) within the team, ensuring best practices in data analysis, reporting, and model development are followed
  • Respond to ad hoc business requests with timely and accurate analysis, driving actionable insights to solve complex problems
