Candidates should possess a strong culinary background and experience, blending culinary talent with business acumen and teaching skills. They should be able to model and direct employees to ensure customer service standards are met, deliver and hold employees accountable for an exceptional cooking class experience, and contribute to an environment where employees are informed and capable through training. Furthermore, candidates must maintain proper storage, prep, and service procedures, ensure food items are cooked and served at the correct temperature, and adhere to Sur La Table policies and standard operating procedures.
The Culinary Lead will model and direct employees to meet customer service standards, deliver and hold employees accountable for exceptional cooking class experiences, contribute to employee training, maintain sanitary conditions, ensure food safety, communicate policies and procedures, provide coaching and performance feedback, increase cooking class and retail sales, anticipate and solve problems, stay informed about product knowledge and training, ensure accurate employee information, and partner with various departments as needed. They will also demonstrate exceptional communication skills, adhere to wage and hour laws, and handle liquor service when required, fulfilling any additional responsibilities assigned by the Resident Chef.
