Requirements

  • High school degree
  • Minimum of 1 year credit and collection experience with a manufacturer, distributor or wholesaler extending commercial credit (business to business)
  • Intermediate Word and Excel skills
  • Exposure to automated A/R software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Analytical and detail orientation

Responsibilities

  • Reviews credit applications and new account set-up sheets for accuracy and completeness
  • Establishes customer account numbers in SAP and notifies sales representatives of credit terms and conditions
  • Conducts credit investigations by contacting business references, credit bureaus and financial institutions to check credit worthiness
  • Establishes customer accounts for new and existing locations
  • Makes necessary changes to customer’s master file requested by Credit Management
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Keeps staff updated and current on status of credit files for existing customers
  • Maintains department’s customer files
  • Performs other duties as assigned
