Minimum of 1 year credit and collection experience with a manufacturer, distributor or wholesaler extending commercial credit (business to business)
Intermediate Word and Excel skills
Exposure to automated A/R software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Analytical and detail orientation

Responsibilities

Reviews credit applications and new account set-up sheets for accuracy and completeness
Establishes customer account numbers in SAP and notifies sales representatives of credit terms and conditions
Conducts credit investigations by contacting business references, credit bureaus and financial institutions to check credit worthiness
Establishes customer accounts for new and existing locations
Makes necessary changes to customer’s master file requested by Credit Management
Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with all levels of internal and external customers
Keeps staff updated and current on status of credit files for existing customers
Maintains department’s customer files
Performs other duties as assigned
