Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of multi-jurisdictional laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of various investment product structures
  • Ability to engage external legal counsel and other advisors as necessary
  • Experience liaising with global legal and compliance teams
  • Ability to work in a team environment with Legal and Compliance team in London and globally
  • Good understanding of applicable policies, procedures, risk appetites, and tolerance relevant to function/business unit
  • Ability to identify, assess, control risks, and escalate/record incidents accurately and timely
  • Stay current on market conditions, fintech innovation, FCA rules (outsourcing, client assets, data protection, conflicts), and regulations impacting SEI's products/services

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to London business units, leading on drafting, negotiation/renegotiation of agreements and commercial relationships
  • Work with stakeholders to manage strategic corporate initiatives including M&A activity, reorganisations, and new business ventures
  • Involvement in legal and regulatory projects, advising on legal risks, obligations, industry standards, and ensuring adherence to FCA and other regulations (e.g., MiFID II)
  • Support business with transactional work and escalate appropriate legal/regulatory issues to General Counsel
  • Ensure adherence to Corporate Governance, updating/maintaining strong mandatory records
  • Maintain and update internal systems/data reference points in agreed format for consistency, communication, and data integrity
  • Maintain ongoing effective communication and alignment of market/regulatory developments with client business practices
