Requirements

  • Ability to lead multi-departmental teams with unique skill sets in Controls, Networks, and Robotics within Vehicle Process Engineering (VPE) environments
  • Expertise in VPE CARE standards and specifications for Controls, Automation, Robotics, and Engineering during design through launch phases
  • Capability to supervise and manage controls and robotics integration from design to installation
  • Experience supporting equipment and tooling build at suppliers, ensuring timing and EEM controls & robotics milestones are met
  • Proficiency in leading installation, commissioning, and launch of equipment
  • Knowledge of disciplines including Control Devices, Network Architecture, Robotics, Communication Systems, Center Information Boards (CIB), VPE CARE/ICT Joint Systems, Auxiliary equipment, Light screens, Perimeter Laser Scanners (PLS), Photo Eyes, RFID, Autonomous Guided Vehicle (AGV), Autonomous Guided Cart (AGC), and other auxiliary equipment
  • Ability to support in Metro Detroit and Brampton locations
  • Skills in ensuring build and process adherence to CLIENT standards
  • Experience leading/supporting Controls Coordinators, Launch Engineers, and Robot Specialists
  • Familiarity with project Controls Committee and subcommittees representation
  • Capability to support CLIENT processes at plants for controls and robot projects, including through-put improvements, cycle time improvements, downtime resolution, and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) reduction
  • Proficiency in management, tracking, resolution, follow-up, and reporting on Action Register (AR), open/new issues, campaigns, Technical Verification (Tech-V) punch lists, timeline goals, Line Integrator progress, and system audits

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful launch of new programs and kitted systems regarding Controls, Networks, and Robotics in VPE environments
  • Participate and support development and implementation of VPE CARE standards and specifications from design through launch
  • Provide direct leadership to multi-departmental teams spanning core VPE CARE functions in Paint
  • Develop and deliver team applications while shaping team culture and craft
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, identify obstacles, monitor projects for technical and business objectives, review lessons learned, solve issues, track/update action registers, and coordinate work schedules
  • Develop advanced training and standard processes continuously
  • Supervise and manage controls and robotics integration
  • Manage and maintain open controls & robotics issues from design to installation
  • Support equipment and tooling build at suppliers and ensure timing/EEM milestones are on track
  • Supervise installation, commissioning, and launch of equipment
  • Report standardized updates to Program Manager
  • Lead VPE CARE launch team
  • Lead execution, deployment, and integration of specified disciplines including hardware and software
  • Support VPE CARE program goals during launch, ensuring CLIENT standards compliance
  • Lead/support Controls Coordinators, Launch Engineers, and Robot Specialists
  • Represent VPE CARE on project Controls Committee and/or subcommittees
  • Support CLIENT process at plant on controls and robot projects
  • Drive through-put improvements, cycle time improvements, downtime resolution, and MTTR reduction
  • Provide VPE CARE related reports
  • Provide management, tracking, resolution, follow-up, and reporting on Action Register, open/new issues, campaigns, Tech-V punch lists, timeline goals, Line Integrator progress, and system audits
  • Interpret audit findings and implement solutions
