Director of Consultant Relations

Position Overview

The Director of Consultant Relations is a key external-facing role responsible for deepening and expanding relationships with bswift's network of benefits brokers, consultants, and third-party evaluators across the U.S. This position is part of an interdisciplinary marketing, sales, and client service team and requires a strategic mindset, excellent relationship-building skills, an understanding of benefits administration industry and market dynamics, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder networks.

Responsibilities

  • Support new business growth by cultivating and maintaining trusted partnerships with top-tier search consultant firms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with mid and lower-tier firms to ensure bswift brand awareness.
  • Continually assess new firm and consultant distribution opportunities.
  • Partner closely with bswift Executive Leadership and Client Services teams to provide business and client updates to the consultant community.
  • Lead a consistent communication strategy and ongoing interaction with search consultants regarding bswift's strategy, vision, and direction for products and services.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular business update meetings, respond to ad hoc consultant requests, and assist in go-to-market materials updates, CRM updates, and driving RFP process efficiency.
  • Act as the first point of contact in the RFP process, reviewing RFPs for fit, answering questions, and initiating the overall process.
  • Manage annual consultant database updates.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Product, Legal, Sales Operations, and Client Services) to ensure accurate and timely completion of requests.
  • Participate in industry conferences and events to promote the firm, build relationships, and stay current with industry trends.
  • Monitor market shifts and provide feedback to Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure competitive positioning.

Requirements

  • Outstanding relationship management, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Proven history of successfully developing or expanding relationships with search consultants and/or brokers.
  • Knowledgeable of the healthcare benefits administration industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in consultant relations, client service, or relationship management.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong Benefits Administration experience and understanding of the broker/consultant sales ecosystem.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CFA and/or MBA are a plus.
  • Hands-on PC proficiency.
