Requirements

  • Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a 4-year university in Nashville with a minimum of 2 years left prior to graduation
  • Able to manage your own hours and be accountable for the work assigned
  • Passion for music, understanding of how peers discover and consume music, and deep interest in music business and marketing
  • Understanding of social media marketing, stay current on trends, and active presence creating content on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook
  • Availability of 20 hours per week
  • Well-written, well-spoken, team player, and excellent communicator
  • Have transportation and live within 30 minutes of Nashville
  • Flexible schedule for team conference calls and tour coverage

Responsibilities

  • Promote 4-8 artists per month, plus one-off promotions, in college town and on campus via digital and in-person marketing strategies
  • Build relationships with local influencers (college radio, DJs, student organizations, newspapers, local sites) to secure reviews, radio plays, and interviews
  • Maintain local social media presence promoting artists using supplied and self-created content
  • Implement in-person marketing at record stores, lifestyle shops, and on campus
  • Research online sites, forums, and networks targeting 18-24-year-old demographic for each artist
  • Research and attend local and campus events to promote artists
  • Attend artists' shows to distribute promotional tools and gather fan feedback
  • Host listening events and organize campus activations
  • Create digital content for social media supporting The Orchard’s artists
  • Submit detailed reports on marketing successes and initiatives for each campaign
