Requirements

  • Experienced in CNC VTL machining
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in multiple fields of machining, particularly CNC machining of turbine engine components
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and prints
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools such as gauges, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and miscellaneous hand tools
  • Capable of setting gauges to approved master gauges
  • Experience with tooling, speeds, feeds, coolants, holders, collets, and chucks
  • Ability to identify and correct machining problems
  • Availability for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, full-time)

Responsibilities

  • Follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Use approved gauges and tools to inspect parts and determine required material removal using tooling, speeds, feeds, and coolants
  • Operate CNC VTL machines to remove material and achieve required dimensions prior to coatings, after finish coatings, or to establish part features, including loading and unloading parts as part of setup
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy using inspection gauges, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and hand tools
  • Identify and correct machining problems related to tools, holders, collets, and chucks
  • Accurately record findings on work instructions and documentation
  • Use heat, dry ice, or liquid nitrogen for some processes as required
  • Perform finishing operations such as deburring, tapping, honing, and bench work
  • Participate in training from time-to-time
