Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficiency in operating multi-axis Mill-Turn machines (Multus experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic math skills
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up and operate Okuma Multus (7-axis mill/turn), including installing and adjusting tools, offsets and fixtures
  • Edit programs
  • Develop lightly attended automated machining process
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts
  • Prepare test runs
  • Set machines to complete full cycles
  • Perform daily maintenance, such as checking fluid levels, cleaning chips, and replacing worn or damaged tools
  • Identify and resolve operating difficulties, report malfunctions, provide feedback to improve processes
  • Maintain accurate records, including production logs, job sheets and maintenance reports
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
