Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Test Engineer or in hardware/systems testing. Proficiency in software scripting/programming languages like LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Python is required, along with knowledge of digital and analog acquisition hardware, including National Instruments products. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to obtain a DoD US Govt. Secret Security Clearance are essential.
The Test Engineer will design, develop, and execute test plans and procedures for software and hardware testing according to project specifications. They will perform functional, performance, and integration testing to ensure compliance with quality standards. The role involves utilizing software scripting to automate test processes, developing scripts to control COTS equipment, conducting signal processing tasks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements. Additionally, the engineer will document test results, identify defects, and recommend improvements while adhering to government security protocols.
