  • Full-time college student at the Junior or Senior level
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
  • Authorized to work in the U.S
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analyses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
  • Able to build relationships across all organizational lines
  • Able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to handle glassware and operate equipment in a laboratory setting (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct synthesis, testing, and analysis experiments in a chemical lab setting
  • Record observations, draft technical reports, and present to internal and external audiences
  • Learn various instrumentation, equipment, software, and procedures needed for properly carrying out experimental tasks
  • Research opportunities for improving current experimental methods as well as developing new methods
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate procedures and guidelines
  • Complete annual required training on time
  • Be present in the workplace on a regular basis and work extra hours if needed (including overtime to meet production objectives)
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives
  • Assist other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals and follow instructions or perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company and complete company-required training programs
