Ability to provide a high level of customer service to Members
Knowledge of how to scan merchandise through a point-of-sale system for accurate inventory counts and purchase totals
Ability to collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments
Ability to issue receipts or change due to Members
Stays up to date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information
Ability to scan and redeem coupons for discounts
Maintains the cleanliness of the frontline area and assists in general club housekeeping
Ability to return re-sellable merchandise to the sales floor
Must be at least 18 years old for 401(k) eligibility (implied general age requirement)
Responsibilities
Processes Member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering several types of membership products
Scans all club merchandise through a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and accurate purchase totals for Members
Fills shopping carts when necessary and assists at self-checkout stations
Collects payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members
Issues receipts or change due to Members
Offers all appropriate membership products such as membership renewal, EASY renewal option, BJ’s Loyalty programs, and Rewards redemption
Checks Members out in a timely and efficient manner
Discounts purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons
Maintains the cleanliness of the frontline area and assists in general club housekeeping when necessary
Returns re-sellable merchandise to the sales floor area
Provides excellent member service in an efficient and productive manner
Maintains the overall cleanliness of the front-line department
Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned, support club policies, procedures, and compliance
Acts with honesty and integrity, leads with the member in mind, addresses concerns, and escalates as appropriate

Understands how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department
