Position Overview

Zinnia is seeking a Case Manager to join our Case Management team. This role is crucial in facilitating a seamless client experience through the underwriting process for all life insurance applicants. You will leverage advanced technology platforms, collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, and work with insurance carriers to ensure a smooth process from application submission to policy placement.

Note: Individuals residing in Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, New York, Nevada, and Rhode Island are not eligible for this remote role.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage an individual caseload of in-process life insurance applications.
  • Initiate the application process by creating and sending applications to clients.
  • Manage applications through the underwriting phase until the policy is in force.
  • Request and obtain necessary underwriting requirements from clients.
  • Proactively review underwriting decisions to identify potentially better options for customers.
  • Master all carrier workflows, application processes, underwriting procedures, and relevant software systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, customer success, and quality assurance, to ensure a seamless and transparent customer experience and to drive process improvements.

Requirements

  • Willingness to obtain a life insurance license.
  • 1+ years of work experience in life insurance case management.
  • A customer-centered mindset, motivated by solving problems for customers and the team.
  • Strong communication skills, including effective listening and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to provide and receive actionable feedback to drive efficiency and best-in-class customer experience.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to ensure timely processing, issuance, and placement of each case.
  • A teamwork mindset, taking ownership of individual work and contributing to team success.
  • Consistent, precise, and professional verbal and written communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Superb attention to detail, a positive attitude, effective problem-solving skills, and a passion for helping clients.
