Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco office location 4 days per week. Lambda’s designated work-from-home day is currently Tuesday.

Information Systems at Lambda is responsible for building and scaling the internal systems that power our business. We partner across the company—Finance, GTM, Engineering, and People—to implement tools, automate workflows, and ensure data flows securely and accurately. Our scope includes enterprise applications, integrations, the data platform and analytics, compliance automation, and all things IT.

About the Job

Join our team as a Business Intelligence Analyst & Administrator. You will collaborate with a small, high-performing team of Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers to design data pipelines, a data warehouse, an automated data catalog, and internal tools. You will be a thought leader on how Lambda manages its BI layer, building analytics tools, training users eager to learn about data tools, and setting Lambda up to scale during a hyper-growth period. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact and is ideal for someone passionate about leveraging data to drive decision-making. The role will report to the Data Platform Manager.

Example Analytics Projects (Past & Present)

  • Researching utilization patterns across GPU and Cluster types
  • Analyzing Lambda’s GPU allocation across the product portfolio
  • Analyzing marketing funnel performance and building customer profiles
  • Partnering with Product Managers to define new metrics for product & feature launches
  • Assisting the FP&A team with metrics for Lambda’s investor decks and leadership meetings
  • Designing and tracking KPIs across all departments with operational leaders and celebrating milestones
  • Partnering with the Project Management Office to help build deployment Gantt tracking

Responsibilities

Tableau / BI Tool Management

  • Oversee the administration and optimization of BI tools, ensuring they meet organizational needs and align with strategic goals.

Access Management

  • Implement and manage user access controls, ensuring data security and compliance with governance policies.

User Training & Enablement

  • Develop and deliver training programs to empower users, fostering a self-service BI environment and enhancing data literacy across the organization.
  • Guide users in selecting the appropriate tools for specific data use cases (e.g., Tableau, Sheets, operational systems, SQL).

Analytics Development

  • Design and maintain analytics tools, dashboards, and reports to support cross-functional teams in achieving their objectives.

Performance Monitoring

  • Continuously monitor and improve BI tools' performance, scalability, and reliability.

Innovation

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.

Collaboration

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of BI tools, processes, and best practices.

Data Integrity

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity, addressing discrepancies and improving data quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in BI, with a focus on tool management, user enablement, and analytics development.
  • Experience in Tableau is preferred.
  • Moderate SQL skills.
  • Experience working with DBT and contributing to a GitHub repository.
