Requirements

  • 10 years’ experience in broker and/or carrier relationship management, underwriting, or commercial insurance broking (strongly preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with senior leadership and broker relationships
  • Adaptability and alignment with AIG’s learn-it-all culture
  • Willingness to travel regularly to broker offices within the market

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage relationships with a select set of five or less retail brokers
  • Collaborate with national team counterparts across AIG and at the broker to drive engagement and insights for outpaced growth
  • Drive financial results and manage assigned retail brokers within a market
  • Create clear goals to promote profitable growth/retention, expand desired mix of business, and derive insights/value from consulting or data services
  • Support execution of local goals consistent with national commitments to/from retail brokers
  • Leverage AIG platforms (e.g., 360, Salesforce) to apply KPIs and measure success
  • Develop and facilitate relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with Distribution (other Broker Directors, Client Directors, leadership, Wholesale & Alternative distribution) and Business Unit leaders to grasp portfolio, opportunities, and target accounts
  • Coordinate with AIG International team for alignment on global business plans
  • Own the broker performance scorecard, contribute to monthly/quarterly reviews, and articulate broker relationship health using data to NA Leadership Team
  • Travel regularly to broker offices (cadence determined with Broker & Market Leader and Executive)
  • Hold regular meetings with broker partners and Distribution leadership to review results and adjust strategies
  • Collaborate with AIG Product teams to develop execution strategies for growth products
  • Develop execution strategies with Broker & Market Executive/Leader and Product leadership, including KPIs
  • Ensure alignment with broker agreements and strategy
  • Drive growth culture with assigned brokers on areas of growth and retention by Product
  • Work with Distribution Analytics to develop market/product level target account initiatives, relationship expansion, and local pipelining initiatives
  • Ensure monthly results and KPI reporting are distributed to Broker & Market Executive/Leader and Product Leaders; use data to drive alignment and profitable growth/retention strategies
  • Oversee and manage a total GPW of ~$200M across assigned brokers
