Responsibilities
Maintain multiple mammalian cell lines for cell-based virus quantification, including learning good sterile technique, formulating cell culture growth media, using a light microscope to inspect cells, and maintaining accurate records
Perform cell-based virus quantification assays, including diluting samples using automation equipment, titrating virus samples, and detecting virus via fluorescence using microscopy or automated imagers
Design, optimize, and develop immunological assays (e.g., ELISA), including learning and implementing ELISA and Western Blot assays to detect antibodies and antigens
Design, optimize, and develop PCR, qPCR, RT-qPCR, and ddPCR assays, including agarose gel electrophoresis, reagent preparation, automation for plates, reaction setup, droplet formation, thermal cycling, and droplet analysis
