Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and ideally have experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities. It is preferred that applicants have a valid CPR certification and be willing to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required, along with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
The Behavior Technician will implement behavior intervention plans developed by Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), providing one-on-one support to children with autism to acquire new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. They will collect data on client progress, provide feedback to BCBAs, and create engaging learning environments that are fun and motivating. Additionally, Behavior Technicians will participate in training and professional development opportunities, and may assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and client communication.
