Company Overview

Wander is transforming the travel industry by pioneering the “hotelification” of vacation rentals – merging the luxury of high-end hotels with the comfort of private vacation homes. We are attracting customers from both markets and are currently in a hypergrowth phase, actively hiring across nearly all departments. We are experiencing significant growth, breaking records month after month, and expanding our presence across the US, Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Our mission is to take our verticalized travel experience global with an end-to-end platform for trips, experiences, and concierge services.

Position Overview

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Wander, you will generate new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing potential leads. Your primary focus will be on outbound cold-calling and pitching, which will constitute approximately 65% of your day. You will be the initial point of contact for potential clients, ensuring a smooth hand-off to our Account Executives (AEs) and maintaining engagement through timely follow-ups. Securing top-tier, “10/10” homes is a vital part of our sales strategy, offering significant commission potential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outbound Cold Calling: Engage prospects by introducing Wander’s unique offering, generating interest, and securing meetings.
  • Prospecting: Identify and research potential leads assigned to you to build a targeted outreach strategy.
  • Discovery: Dive into the prospect’s specific situation to uncover pain points and opportunities, setting up high-intent meetings.
  • Building and Nurturing Relationships: Keep prospects engaged through consistent follow-ups, maintaining rapport and momentum.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Facilitate smooth handoffs between AEs and prospects, ensuring all scheduling and rescheduling runs seamlessly.
  • Maintaining CRM: Accurately document all interactions and manage leads within HubSpot to ensure up-to-date records and clear reporting.
  • Continuous Growth: Actively participate in call reviews, role-playing sessions, and self-development, aiming to improve 1% every day.

Qualifications

  • Proven success meeting quota in a high-volume cold-calling sales or business development role (experience in travel or real estate is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – naturally conversational and curious.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and schedules effectively.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in CRM software, G-Suite, and Zoom.
  • US-based or located in PST, CST, MST, or EST time zones.
  • Must have a professional home office setup with high-speed internet access.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with uncapped commissions, accelerators, and contests.
  • Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for US-based candidates.
  • Ownership in Wander with Equity Stock Options – share in our success!
  • Weekly pay dates for consistent earnings.
