Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in battery testing, with a focus on abuse testing, environmental testing, qualification testing, and BMS HIL testing
Proven experience in leading and managing a team of engineers and technicians
Strong technical understanding of battery chemistry, electrochemistry, and performance characteristics, Battery Management System, Battery Charging
Deep experience with battery testing equipment and data acquisition systems
Familiarity with industry standards such as UL, IEC

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain a state-of-the-art battery cell, module, pack, system, power distribution testing laboratory, including equipment selection, procurement, and calibration
Establish and optimize testing infrastructure and procedure for abuse testing (e.g., crush, nail penetration, thermal runaway), environmental testing (e.g., temperature cycling, humidity), de-risk testing, qualification testing (e.g., UL, IEC), and HIL testing
Develop and maintain data acquisition and analysis systems to efficiently process and interpret test results
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards
Coordinate and execute the development, de-risk and qualification testing with design engineers
Coordinate and support the development of end-of-line test hardware, procedure with manufacturing
Lead the team and be responsible for energy storage and power systems test infrastructure set-up and test execution including development testing, validation testing and qualification testing
