Requirements

The ideal candidate must have professional experience in fintech or financial domains such as payments, accounting, exchanges, banking, or crypto. They should also have experience working in or building systems for financial-focused companies and be familiar with compliance-sensitive environments including KYC, AML, transaction monitoring, or regulatory reporting. Solid backend development skills with proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript are essential.

Responsibilities

The Backend Engineer will collaborate in a cross-functional team with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals to create seamless experiences. They will participate in product planning from discovery to deployment, develop and enhance robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve industry-leading products, while also helping to find and fix bugs at "Deel Speed." The role involves providing an exceptional, customer-centric experience through quality engineering and attentive, customer-focused development, solving complex fintech problems by building modern, resilient systems that power Deel's financial infrastructure at global scale, and designing and evolving APIs, services, and infrastructure to support high-transaction volumes.
