Backend Software Development Engineer in Test

Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building medium to large-scale on AWS. They must have experience developing and maintaining test frameworks and scripts to validate server-side logic, data integrity, and API responses, along with proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks such as JUnit, Postman, Cypress, TestRail, and StaticQube. Strong understanding of APIs, databases, and server-side architectures is required, as well as familiarity with security testing and data protection best practices.
The Backend Test Engineer will collaborate with fellow Nava engineers to design, review, and build well-crafted software, working with government partners and other contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements to existing systems. They will operate in an agile manner to efficiently ship new features that meet user needs, write and maintain documentation for test plans, test cases, and test results, monitor and analyze test results, and report defects and performance issues to development teams, ensuring compliance with security best practices in all testing activities. This role also involves participating in an on-call rotation to support production systems and investigate issues when they occur, and taking part in hiring activities as needed.
