Requirements

Have 3+ years’ backend experience, ideally with exposure to backend software or platform/infrastructure responsibilities
Have worked at high-velocity startups, seeing the shift from MVP to robust, scalable systems first-hand
Have strong system design skills, owning problems end-to-end across APIs, infra, and data flows without handing off parts of work to others
Be experienced in distributed systems, queueing, and large-scale batch processing
Be pragmatic and resourceful, comfortable making trade-offs and moving fast under ambiguity
Be familiar with LLM infrastructure at scale: token routing, provider failover, quota handling, and more
Have built internal tooling or APIs that improved developer workflows and delivery speed
Set a quality bar, share context, and help others move faster - not just through code but by improving systems and mentoring the team

Responsibilities

Build core platform and backend services as one of the first hires focused on backend platform and infrastructure
Shape foundational infrastructure with broad ownership across architecture, developer experience, internal tooling, and production systems
Implement large-scale batch job infrastructure, backend service implementation, and local developer tooling
Accelerate product teams by building a platform that helps engineers move fast without tripping over complexity
Design and maintain infrastructure that scales with confidence, holds up as the company grows, scales without becoming fragile, and meets stringent reliability requirements for enterprise customers
Tame LLM infra challenges including high token throughput, real-time usage, flaky providers to make it reliable
Raise the floor through defaults and abstractions in areas like auth, observability, and job orchestration to create well-designed, high-quality systems
