Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in technical systems or a related field, and demonstrate strong knowledge of general automation systems, instruments, or product field service experience. They must also have demonstrated successful customer service performance and knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.

Responsibilities

The Automation Technical Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert, leading a team to implement automation hardware solutions in large core clinical laboratories, including receiving, transporting, assembling, testing, and turning over the solutions for informatics implementation. They will utilize consulting strategies and tools to foster long-term customer partnerships, provide supplemental automation product training to the local field service team, and act as a liaison between the customer, field service, and project managers. Additionally, they will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system, adhering to the Abbott Code of Business Conduct, providing subject matter expert support post-implementation, and serving as the subject matter expert for new automation hardware product launches and training the local field service teams. They will also coordinate with various departments and manage fiscal responsibility to exceed work plans.
