Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a DeltaV Control System support strategy that integrates process knowledge, equipment design, and quality standards with information technology to reduce down-time, elevate the level of regulatory compliance, and introduce efficiency gains through effective use of available technologies.
  • Responsible for configuring DeltaV (Moderate changes) using Functional specification provided by Manufacturing engineering in DeltaV system. Ability to troubleshoot the process automation systems as well.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise and Vendor to provide support in the evaluation and implementation of Control System application upgrades, hotfixes etc.
  • Work closely with the automation hardware team to support in the integration of manufacturing equipment/devices to the Control System and troubleshooting device communication.
  • Understanding of engineering documentation such as P&IDs, process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures.
  • Lead/Participate in Process Automation System (PAS) Alarm management program, to manage and remediate alarms.
  • Monitor systems performance and review logs and diagnostic information and respond appropriately.
  • Understand the manufacturing processes and system configuration and make informed recommendations regarding optimal system configuration.
  • Provide support for deviation assessment, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process or automation related events that can lead to CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventive Action). Act as Lead for Low and Medium risk investigation.
  • Strong Technical writing skills for updating SOPs, WI, Knowledgebase articles etc.
  • Provide on-call support for DeltaV system on rotation schedule as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field with at least 3-5 years of experience working in control systems or manufacturing systems, preferably in the biotechnology sector.
  • A successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with control systems technologies. Emerson DeltaV would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of Emerson DeltaV, OPC configuration/communication, Rockwell PLC's, MS Windows Server and SQL server.
  • Experience and/or substantial understanding of process control principles and common system vendors’ available products.
  • Theoretical and applied knowledge of computerized systems and Systems Development Life Cycle.
