Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field, or a high school diploma with a suitable combination of related training and experience. They must demonstrate an outstanding portfolio showcasing exceptional originality, innovation, and multi-disciplinary thinking, along with a creative vision that allows them to see the bigger picture and develop PR-able and award-winning work. Strong script excellence and a genuine passion for sports and sports culture are also required.
As an Associate Writer, the individual will create creative campaigns and concepts at the highest level, working collaboratively with Art Directors, Copywriters, and Designers. They will maintain the team’s creative vision for internal and external accounts, working with the production team to understand trends and build relationships with directors and vendors. The role involves conceptualizing cutting-edge creative, developing client relationships, maintaining ESPN brand consistency, providing creative ideas based on briefs, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and staying current on ESPN shows, talent, and sports trends. They will also continuously develop their presentation skills and proactively contribute new ideas to advance creative work and client relationships.
